About
Self-hosting has too many options and too few straight answers. This newsletter gives straight answers.
What you get
- Tool head-to-heads: two or three options compared on what matters when you run them yourself.
- Choosing a database: which one fits your app and your hardware, and what it costs to operate.
- Infrastructure: backups, reverse proxies, updates, monitoring.
- Learn Linux: the commands and concepts self-hosting assumes you already know.
How it works
One guide a week, published here first and sent by email. Every guide ends with a recommendation and says who it is not for. When a guide is sponsored, it says so at the top.
Who writes it
Lucas, who self-hosts the stack he writes about. Questions or corrections: [email protected].
Privacy
This site loads no trackers and no third-party scripts, with one exception: when you click into a subscribe form, it loads Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly spam check. Emails have open and click tracking turned off, and every link points back here. Your address is used to send the newsletter and nothing else.
